What is Beer House
Beer House is a chain of beer pubs in St Petersburg with the slogan “No tie life” (in Russian, «Жизнь без галстуков»). According to the site, the bar menu includes more than 40 styles of draft and bottled beer from England, Ireland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Belgium, the USA, Russia and other countries — for example, a classic German pale lager, an English dense black porter with coffee and smoke notes, and a famous Belgian cherry ale. The look of the place is nostalgic: vintage telephones, vinyl records, kerosene lamps, antique books and film cameras.

The English version of the site starts at beerhousebar.ru/en: a main page with the menu, sports and contact sections. The English menu page, Menu, has the sections Beer snacks, Strong alcohol, Beer and Main menu. The menu itself is shown as pictures, so we do not quote dishes or prices here. What to expect from the food
The site says that dish names are inspired by popular national recipes: rich soups, German sausages, mussels, signature burgers and steaks. Guests quoted on the English main page mention mussels (“a full portion of mussels in an incredible sauce”), a fried bread plate with cheese, a mixed cheese plate and cherry beer. The bars open every day from 12:00 (noon). The Russian contacts page gives 06:00 as the closing time, so a late evening is normal here; if you plan to arrive very late, call to confirm. The phone number is the same for all bars: +7 (812) 604-54-00 (the site shows it as 604 54 00). We did not find a way to book a table in English on the site, so booking is by phone. Whether the staff speaks English at each bar is not stated on the site — ask when you call.
The metro is closed after midnight, so plan a taxi in advance. Please do not drive after drinking.
Guest card and good to know
The site offers a free guest card: a constant discount of up to 10% and up to 20% for 7 days before and after your birthday; it does not apply to Guinness, Kilkenny, bottled beer and special offers.
